As written by Sheryl Hohle:

Perp was the pick girl from our Cassie/Konner litter. She is co-owned by mentor, Judy and Edj Hetkowski of Boulder Vizslas. I thought she was exceptional from the day she was born. She wore a gold bling rick-rack collar when she was tiny, then it was replaced with a purple collar. Either way, she has always looked regal in her gold and purple color scheme (which happens to be the colors of her favorite football team, the MN Vikings). She has that quality that makes you want to look at her - beautiful, interactive, and always very aware of everything around her. She’s intelligent and wants to please. She is clearly a show dog with a desire to work - and will likely want to hunt and play agility too. She loves to explore and loves to climb. She was the first to climb out of the puppy pen, the first to climb up on the couch, and she isn’t afraid to tackle the rock walls in the garden either. When she was with her litter, she would climb out of the pen, grab the puppys’ favorite toy, then parade back and forth in front of her siblings with her prize dangling from her mouth. This would set off a cacophony of screams - thus she transformed from "Purple" to "the Perpetrator." Her name has also evolved into the "Perpendicular Perpetrator" (can go over anything that’s perpendicular) or the "Usual Suspect". Sometimes, she would go over the wall, get the toy, then drag it back into the pen - even toys that were bigger than she was. Based on her activity level (when awake), I’d say she’s a Perpetual Motion machine - which is a great name for an agility dog. No matter what her final registered name becomes, she has decided her name is "Perp" -- and so it is.
