BIG CONGRATS to Jim and Cindy Mueller!!! Peak qualified October 11, 2009 for his 4^th and FINAL Junior Hunter leg out at the Show Me Vizsla Club's (SMVC) hunting test in Lee's Summit, MO. The weather was pretty miserable and the cover very thick (different than anything Peak has worked before).

Jim and Cindy have gone above and beyond in providing Peak his "baby bird dog education". Living up in Grand Lake, each training day required a 3-4 hour drive EACH WAY to meet us at the Cobb Lake SWA. But, the ultimate troopers, they were there almost every single day we trained. We watched Peak go from a 6 month old, goofy pup learning how to use his nose, to a mature, handsome and intense young bird dog with BIG RUN and lots of style. We've also enjoyed watching Jim learn all about training and handling. Jim and Cindy's belief in Peak never wavered. They did their "homework" diligently and accepted Peak would have good days and days when it seemed he forgot the previous training sessions. Never applying too much pressure, but lots of encouragement, we've enjoyed watching Team Peak grow together..

While it may take a little longer to get those titles, there is nothing as wonderful as that "owner trained and handled" feeling!

Note that it is one thing to get a dog ready to complete a JH title as a single objective. It takes much more time can care to give a bird dog a solid foundation for the advanced titles of SH and MH or for use as a finished bird dog hunting companion. Peak now has that solid foundation!
