Figaro is a male of medium stature, 23" at the withers, 52 lbs. in weight. He is an affectionate yet independent dog of great presence.

Colene writes about Figaro:

"Figaro makes me want to always have a male Vizsla dog as part of the family. He is a very affectionate, physical dog, he loves to be rubbed and hugged and loves to sit on a lap. He has no idea that he weighs 50 lbs! He thinks that he is a nimble 40 lbs or so! Figaro is an extremely focused dog, in the show ring and in the field, he is responsive and concentrates, his long term attention surprises me sometimes. He is also very responsive to my moods, he always has an eye on me from a distance, and he keeps me in line. If I stay up too late at night he comes in and gets me from the kitchen or office and whines until I go to bed, and if our daily walk is delayed or does not happen he lets me know about it! My father refers to Figaro as a good soldier, he never stands when he could be sitting and he never sits when he could be lying down. He is still a puppy at heart and surprises me daily with his antics.

As a show dog I think that Figaro has done well being that he is my first show dog and he has only been handled by me! Despite this disadvantage he has won multiple breed placements and one group placement. In July 2001 he was ranked in Show Site Magazine as the #13 Vizsla and in 2002 he was invited to the Eukanuba Cup in Florida, but did not compete because our family was moving from North Carolina to California at the time. Fig has competed in three VCA National events. At the 2000 VCA Nationals he placed third in the 6-9 Month Dog Class. At the 2001 and 2003 VCA Nationals he was entered in the Best of Breed Class and made it to the final cuts both times. At the 2003 National event Fig made it to the final cut of 8 boys - out of 64 present. Just a side note to laugh about, at each National event I, the handler, was either pregnant or recuperating from the birth of a child.

We are very lucky to have Figaro as a part of our family and we hope that he feels the same way about us!"
